SLUK Vespa PX Pinasco 251cc Street Racer

I’m sure some of you will be well aware of this scooter having been owned by Iggy and heavily featured on his SLUK website and in their YouTube videos which include a step by step video documentation of this engine build.

Owned by Iggy from new since 2002, this scooter underwent a rebuild in 2012, the main man Ferdy from Insane Innovations sunk the rear light, frenched the frame and made the drop handles to provide the street racer style. As i’m sure you know drop handlebars are a great look but can be uncomfortable to travel long distances with so these are only half the standard drop and give a great riding position but are still kind to your back! The paintwork was taken on by Jubilee Scooters and all of the logos were hand painted by the Leicester signwriting legend Johnny Letterknight.

The engine was build in 2022 by Martin ‘Sticky’ Round of Spanners Manual fame and the full build was documented on the SLUK website and YouTube channels, links to these are at the bottom of the description.

Starting with the Pinasco 251 specific T5 styled engine casings which have been powder coated in crackle glaze by Midas Touch, the engine was built using the full Pinasco kit so features the 60mm crankshaft, BULL clutch, 251 cylinder kit and exhaust. The only thing that isn’t supplied from Pinasco is the ignition which has been upgraded to a SIP Vape in order to provide better lighting and power the SIP Speedo.

The scooter has covered 1200 trouble free miles since it’s rebuild, 500 of those to Weymouth National Scooter Rally in July this year.
